• Osprey Waters is nestled between the Peel Inlet and the Old Coast Road, on the south side of the Mandurah Estuary Bridge. In the late 1800s, the surrounding area was owned by the Sutton family and used mainly as farmland.

In the 1890s, on the shores of the Peel Inlet, Henry Halliday built a house with large stone chimneys that were used by fishermen as navigational markers. The house was burnt down by a bushfire in the early 1900s but the chimneys remained standing for several more decades and the area became locally known as “The Chimneys.”

In 1971, the area was officially named Erskine after Lieutenant Archibald Erskine of the 63rd Regiment. Lieutenant Erskine was a pioneer of the region and Justice of the Peace for the Murray district in 1831. Today, Erskine is a popular residential area that includes a range of established amenities and facilities only minutes from Mandurah.
